Abstract Glavni je cilj istraživanja disertacije utvrditi utjecaj prometne marginaliziranosti na pristup osnovnim životnim aktivnostima srednjoškolaca Grada Zagreba. Samim time se i većina srednjoškolaca ubrajaju u prometno marginaliziranu skupinu društva.
Abstract (english) The main aim of the PhD thesis is to determine the impact of transport disadvantage on the access to basic life activities of highschool students of City of Zagreb. According to scientific literature, people who cannot, for certain reasons, drive a car are often considered as transport disadvantaged. Taking this fact, most of the highschool students are transport disadvantaged social group. Research involved three segments of life: school activities, extracurricural activities and evening outings. The basis of the PhD thesis are results obtained by survey that included 826 students of City of Zagreb, and by focus groups. Method of spatial analysis (using GIS) and modeling were also used for the research. Based on the data of travelling to certain activity and student's place of living, model was made to determine the level of transport disadvantage for each individual student. In addition, the level of transport disadvantage was determined for each student using self-reported measure. Also, the level of transport disadvantage of the space was determined based of the frequency of public transport and the zones of spatial influence of public transport stations (buffer 400m/800m). Results indicated 16 out of 17 districts of City of Zagreb as transport disadvantaged. Beside, results revealed higher level of transport disadvantage of female students in comparison to male students, as well as differences in the level of transport disadvantage in particular segments of life. Evenmore, there is significant statistical correlation between transport disadvantage and school achievement, and also influence of transport disadvantage on the way of spending student’s leisure time. One of the tasks of PhD thesis was examine virtual transport disadvantage, but it was not possible to use methodology used for determining classical transport disadvantage. However, influence of ICT on the everyday life of highschool students was found. Newly established model and the whole research will improve knowledge about influences of different factors to educational achievements and social interactions of highschool students, and will contribute to improvement of social politics and politics for young people.
