Abstract
U zadnjih desetak godina u ljetno doba događaju se masovna uginuća sesilnih vrsta u Sredozemnom moru zbog utjecaja povišene temperature mora (pozitivne temperaturne anomalije) sve do 40 metara dubine. Najočitije negativne promjene zabilježene su kod žarnjaka Parazoanthus axinellae, Madracis pharensis, Leptopsammia pruvoti, Caryophyllia inornata, Eunicella singularis, Eunicella cavolini, Paramuricea clavata i Corallium rubrum. Promjene su uočene i kod drugih vrsta poput spužvi, puževa, mahovnjaka i plaštenjaka. Terenska istraživanja obavljena su u uvali Telašćica, uz strmce na postajma Prisika, Mir, Mali Garmenjak, Veli Garmenjak i Sestrica Vela. Mjerenjem hidrografskih parametara (temperatura mora, količina kisika, salinitet, pH morske vode) na strmcima, utvrđeni su uvjeti koji vladaju u biocenozama i njihova moguća ugroženost. Temperature mora na dubinama od 30 i 40 metara pokazuju visoke ljetne temperaturne anomalije za ovu dubinu mora. Duži vremenski period koji može trajati i do 3 mjeseca vrlo je vjerojatno uzrok ugibanja spužava, koralja i mahovnjaka na istraživanim postajama. Na svim postajama utvrđeno je djelomično smanjivanje populacija (između 5 i 10% uginulih jedinki). Posebna pozornost usmjerena je na crveni koralj (Corallium rubrum), čije su populacije vrlo ugrožene u cijelom Sredozemnom moru, pa tako i u PP „Telašćica“. Najviše su ugrožene gorgonije Eunicella cavolinii i Paramuricea clavata, te kameni koralji Caryophyllia inornata, Madracis pharensis i Leptopsammia pruvoti.
Abstract (english)
In the last ten years during the summer, mass mortality of sessile species was observed in the Mediterranean Sea as a result of increased water temperature (positive temperature anomalies) up to 40 meters depth. The most obvious negative changes were noticed at cnidarians Parazoanthus axinellae, Madracis pharensis, Leptopsammia pruvoti, Caryophyllia inornata, Eunicella singularis, Eunicella cavolini, Paramuricea clavata and Corallium rubrum. Changes were also noticed in other species such as sponges, gastropods, bryozoans and tunicates. Field studies were carried out in Telašcica bay, along the cliffs on stations Prisika, Mir, Mali Garmenjak, Veli Garmenjak and Sestrica Vela. Conditions of the biocenosis and their potential vulnerability were determined by hydrographic measurements (temperature, light intensity, salinity, pH of seawater) on the cliffs. Sea temperatures on 30 and 40 meters depth show high summer temperature anomalies for this depth of see. Longer period that can last up to 3 months is very likely the cause of mortality of sponges, corals and tunicates in study areas. Partial reduction in population (5 to 10% dead specimens) was noticed in each location. Special attention is focused to the red coral (Corallium rubrum), whose populations are endangered in the Mediterranean, including the PP "Telašcica". The most vulnerable are gorgonians Eunicella cavolini and Paramuricea clavata, and stony corals Caryophyllia inornata, Madracis pharensis and Leptopsammia pruvoti.
