Abstract
Područje Južnog Velebita ima složeni geomorfološki razvoj, a njegovo oblikovanje bilo je i pod utjecajem pleistocenske glacijacije. Cilj ovog rada je detaljnije istražiti geomorfološke tragove pleistocenske oledbe na tom području. Primijenjene su metode opće i specifične morfometrijske analize u GIS-u te metoda geomorfološkog kartiranja. Zabilježeni su značajniji egzaracijski (cirkovi, ledenjačke doline) i akumulacijski oblici te je analiziran njihov prostorni raspored i odnos s ostalim ... More elementima reljefa. Na temelju geomorfoloških tragova pretpostavljen je položaj i obuhvat četiri ledenjaka, od kojih je najdulji Ribnički, duljine 10,5 km. Ostale tri pretpostavljene ledenjačke doline nalaze se na sjevernoj padini. Obuhvat leda u maksimumu glacijacije pretpostavljen je na površini od 41,6 km2 . S obzirom na karbonatnu građu ovo područje je i znatno okršeno pa prevladava glaciokrš. Abstract (english)
The Southern Velebit area has a complex geomorphological formation and it was reshaped under Pleistocene glaciation. The aim of this thesis is to investigate geomorphological traces of Pleistocen glaciation on this area. The main methods used in this research were general and specific morphometric analys method in GIS and method of geomorphological mapping. It was found that they are significant egzaration (cirques, glacial valleys) and accumulation forms, so their spatial arrangement... More and relations with other elements of relief were analyzed. In fact of geomorphological traces, the position and area of four glaciers was assumed. The longest glacier was Ribnički glacier with the lenght of 10,5 km. The other three glacial valleys are located on the northern side of the Southern Velebit. The ice coverage during the glacial maximum has been assumed with area of 41,6 km2 . The researched area is primarily made of carbonated stones that were reshaped by ice; hence the development of glaciokarst.
