Abstract
Suvremen način života sve više izlaže prirodu novim ekološkim prijetnjama. Jedna od takvih je i sve veća prisutnost farmaceutika u okolišu. Iako je razvoj farmaceutske industrije i farmakologije uvelike produžio prosječan ljudski životni vijek te znatno poboljšao kvalitetu života, sve su češće vidljive posljedice tog napretka na račun globalnih slatkovodnih ekosustava. U ovom radu iznesen je pregled sudbine farmaceutski aktivnih spojeva u slatkovodnom okolišu. Dan je pregled njihovih izvora i najčešće zastupljenih spojeva, abiotičkih i biotičkih procesa putem kojih bivaju razgrađeni ili pak uneseni u hranidbeni lanac te kako utječu na organizme koji ih unesu u svoj organizam.
Abstract (english)
Nature is threatened by the modern way of life with an increasing number of ecological threats. One of these threats is the growing presence of pharmaceuticals in the global freshwater environment. Although the development of pharmacology and the pharmaceutical industry has brought on the prolongation of the human life span and the great increase in life quality, the negative consequences following it are increasingly affecting the environment. In this paper, a perspective is given of the fate of pharmaceutically active compounds in the freshwater ecosystems. A review is given on the sources of the pharmaceuticals, on the most common ones present in the environment, on the biotic and abiotic processes which govern their degradation or their entry and spread through the food webs and the effect that they have on organisms that ingest or absorb them.
