Abstract
U radu su proučavana dva dihalkogenida prijelaznih metala, MoS_2 i WS_2, kao potencijalni materijali za proizvodnju vodika fotoelektrokemijskim cijepanjem vode. Sintetizirani su nanostrukturirani materijali navedena dva spoja metodom kemijske depozicije pare, što je potvrđeno rendgenskom difrakcijom i Ramanovom spektroskopijom. Zatim je morfologija materijala ispitana skenirajućom elektronskom mikroskopijom. Provedena istraživanja predstavljaju prvi korak u istraživanju materijala iskoristivih za održivi gospodarski razvoj, koji je preduvjet za očuvanje Zemljinog ekosustava. S obzirom na to da MoS2 i WS2 spadaju u poluvodiče, u metodičkom dijelu rada objašnjena su načela fizike poluvodiča.
Abstract (english)
Two transition metals dichalcogenides, MoS_2 and WS_2, were studied as potential materials for hydrogen production by photoelectrochemical water splitting. These two compounds were synthesized as nanostructured materials via chemical vapor deposition method, which was confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. The morphology of the materials was then examined by scanning electron microscopy. The conducted research represents the first step in the research of materials suitable for sustainable economic development, which is a prerequisite for the preservation of the Earth’s ecosystem. Since MoS2 and WS2 belong to the group of semiconductors, the principles of semiconductor physics are explained in the methodological part of the paper.
