Abstract
Hrvatske otoke kroz 20. stoljeće obilježili su uglavnom negativni demografski trendovi. Rast broja stanovnika na posljednjim popisima stanovništva uglavnom je posljedica imigracije (često fiktivne) dok je prirodno kretanje stanovništva i dalje negativnog predznaka. Kao posljedica toga, smanjuje se bioreproduktivna moć otočne populacije te dolazi do starenja i depopulacije. Ipak, postoje znatne razlike u demografskim pokazateljima između pojedinih otoka, a upravo zbog izraženih razlika za fokus ovog rada odabrani su otoci Splitsko-dalmatinske županije. Uočeno je da bolje demografske pokazatelje imaju prometno bolje povezani otoci. S obzirom na to, u radu se korištenjem relevantne literature, obradom prikupljenih statističkih podataka i korelacijskom analizom pokušava utvrditi utjecaj prometne povezanosti na demografsku sliku promatranih otoka. Analizira se utjecaj vremenske dostupnosti te frekvencije pomorskog prometa na kretanje ukupnog broja stanovnika otoka, prirodno kretanje te dobni sastav stanovništva. Naglasak se stavlja i na razlike u prometnoj povezanosti na samim otocima, odnosno na posljedice koje (ne)dostupnost otočnih naselja ostavlja na lokalnu demografsku sliku.
Abstract (english)
Croatian islands throughout the 20th century were marked mainly by negative demographic trends. Population growth in recent censuses is caused mainly by immigration (often fictitious) while natural change in population is still negative. As a consequence, the bioreproductive power of the island population decreases while ageing and depopulation occur. However, there are significant differences in demographic indicators between individual islands, and precisely because of the pronounced differences, the islands of the Split-Dalmatia County were chosen for the focus of this paper. It has been observed that islands with better demographic indicators are those with better traffic connectivity. With this in mind, the paper uses the relevant literature, correlation analysis and processes the collected statistical data to determine the impact of traffic connections on the demographics of the observed islands. The influence of availability and frequency of maritime traffic on the change of the total population of the island, natural change and age structure of the population are analyzed. Emphasis is also placed on the differences in traffic connections on the islands themselves, i.e. on the consequences that the (in)accessibility of island settlements leaves on the local demographics.
