Abstract
Pojam stres označava svaki potencijalni stresni čimbenik, abiotički ili biotički, izvan granica optimalnih vrijednosti za rast i razvoj biljke. Jedan od važnih abiotičkih čimbenika je vodni stres koji predstavlja značajan problem u uzgoju biljnih vrsta. Engleski ljulj (Lolium perenne L.) predstavlja koristan model u proučavanju utjecaja stresa na biljke. Cilj ovog rada je bio proučiti utjecaj vodnog stresa na fiziološke pokazatelje u ljulja, utvrditi fiziološke prilagodbe i utjecaj dodatka zeolita - mineralnih aditiva koji imaju sposobnost vezanja vode i hranjiva. Ljulj je uzgajan u supstratu bez, odnosno s dodatkom zeolita tri različite granulacije u kontrolnim uvjetima i uvjetima vodnog stresa. Utvrđeno je kako je vodni stres povećao udio suhe tvari biljaka, koncentraciju proteina i prolina te aktivnost katalaze, dok se aktivnost superoksid dismutaze i gvajakol peroksidaze kao i koncentracija lipidnih peroksida nije značajnije promijenila. Promjene su bile najslabije izražene u biljaka uzgajanih u supstratu s najmanjom granulacijom zeolita što ukazuje da je dodatak zeolita ove granulacije smanjio vodni stres, iako ljulj i kao vrsta pokazuje zadovoljavajuću prirodnu otpornost.
Abstract (english)
Term stress is defined as an every potential stress factor, abiotic or biotic, beyond optimum values for plant growth and development. One of the important abiotic factors is water stress, which is considered as a significant problem in plant cultivation. A perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) is a valuable model organism in studies of stress influence on plants. Aim of this work was to study the effect of water stress on physiological parameters of perennial ryegrass and determine the physiological adaptations as well as the effect of addition of zeolite, mineral component which has ability to absorb water and nutrients. Perennial ryegrass was planted in substrate, with or without application of different granulates of zeolites in control and water stress conditions. The results showed that water deficit increased dry matter, protein and proline content and also catalase activity, while it did not have influence on superoxide dismutase and guaiacol peroxidase activity and lipid peroxidation. The least pronounced changes were noticed in plants grown in substrate with the smallest granulation of zeolite, which indicates the reduction of water stress even though it was shown that perennial ryegrass was a tolerant species also.
