Abstract
Ovaj završni rad daje kratak pregled strukture i funkcije hemoglobina i nekih njegovih varijanti s naglaskom na methemoglobin. Prikazani su glavni mehanizmi nastajanja methemoglobina in vivo te su objašnjeni načini regeneracije methemoglobina u živoj stanici putem sustava methemoglobin-reduktaza i primjenom pigmenta metilensko plavo. Također je objašnjena povezanost između deficijencije nekih enzima s pojavom stanja methemoglobinemije kao i manifestacija takvog stanja u ljudi.
