Abstract
Zadružni kukci su pčele, ose, mravi, termiti. Pripadaju opnokrilcima (Hymenoptera), osim termita koji su istokrilci (Isoptera). Svi ovi kukci žive u organiziranim zajednicama, ključ njihovog uspješnog funkcioniranja je briga o drugima unutar zajednice, organizirano građenje gnijezda, potraga za hranom, briga o mladima. Zadružni kukci su podijeljeni po strukturi, funkciji i ponašanju u grupe (kaste), glavne su reproduktivne (kraljica) te sterilni oblici (radnici i vojnici). Što se tiče vanjskog izgleda, tijelo se sastoji od glave, prsa i zatka. Imaju dva para tankih krila, prednja su veća od stražnjih. Dobri su letači, ali postoje neki i bez krila (radnici u pojedinim zadrugama).
Abstract (english)
Under the category of social insects we include bees, wasps, ants and termites. They belong to the order of Hymenoptera, with the exception of termites which belong to the order of Isoptera. All these insects live in highly organized communities whose key to successful functionality lies in the communal care for its members, organized nest construction, search for food as well as its care for the young. Social insects are differentiated in accordance to their structure, function, and behaviour. Consequently, they are put into castes, the major ones being the reproductives (e.g., the queen) and the steriles (such as, workers and soldiers). When it comes to the appearance, their body consists of head, thorax, metasoma. They have two pair of thin wings, front wings being larger in sizes than rear ones. They are excellent flyers, however, some have to survive without their wings (workers).
