Abstract
Omega-3 masne kiseline kratkog lanca su nezasićene masne kiseline i gradivne su komponente staničnih membrana. Njihov dovoljan unos je bitan za normalno funkcioniranje organizma jer ih ljudski organizma nije u mogućnosti sintetizirati. Iako potrebna količina omega-3 masnih kiselina za vrijeme trudnoće nije poznata, za pretpostaviti je da se potrebna količina povećala zbog razvoja fetusa. Eikozapentenska (EPA) i dokozaheksanska kiselina (DHA) su dugolančane omega-3 masne kiseline i važne su za normalan tijek trudnoće te za zdravlje majke i dijeteta. Omega-3 masne kiseline dugog lanca imaju utjecaj i na duljinu gestacije te mogu spriječiti razvoj bolesti poput gestacijskog dijabetesa, preeklampsije i poslijeporođajne depresije.
Abstract (english)
Omega-3 short chain fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids that are key components of cell membranes. Their sufficient intake is essential for the normal functioning of the organism because the human organism is not able to synthesize them. Although sufficient intake of omega-3 fatty acids during pregnancy is not known, it is to be assumed that the required amount increased due to fetal development. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids and are important for the normal development of pregnancy and for the health of mother and child. Omega-3 long chain fatty acids have influence on duration of gestation and can play role in prevention developments od conditions such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and postpartum depression.
