Abstract
Modeliranje baza podataka, odnosno proces stvaranja modela baza podataka primjena je tehnika za stvaranje vizualnog prikaza informacijskog sustava ili dijelova informacijskog sustava. Izrada modela baze podataka važan je korak u izradi kvalitetnog sustava za upravljanje podacima. Ovaj rad opisuje modeliranje podataka kao dio razvojnog ciklusa baze podataka te njegovu važnost. Prikazuje se izrada modela na konceptualnoj i logičkoj razini. Relacijski model prikazan je u besplatnim verzijama različitih alata: Oracle SQL Data Modeler-u, MySQL Workbench-u i pgModeler-u. Prikazana je usporedba u mogućnostima i opcijama različitih alata za modeliranje, kako besplatnih tako i onih koji su dostupni uz plaćanje.
Abstract (english)
Database modeling or the process of creating a database model is the application of techniques for creating a visual representation of an information system or parts of an information system. Creating a database model is an important step in creating a quality data management system. This paper describes data modeling as part of the database development cycle and its importance. The creation of the model at the conceptual and logical level is shown. The relational model is presented in free versions of various tools: Oracle SQL Data Modeler, MySQL Workbench and pgModeler. A comparison of the capabilities and options of different modeling tools, both free and those available for payment is also presented in this paper.
