This thesis describes the concept of a solar power plant, from the photovoltaic cell to the process of connecting the solar power plant to the distribution network. Due to the ever-increasing energy needs of the world's population, there is global warming of the Earth and ever-increasing prices of electricity, so the emphasis is placed on the use of renewable energy sources, especially the energy of the Sun. The potential of the Sun's energy is insufficiently used, especially in Croatia, which has a very favorable geographical position in relation to the number of hours of sunshine on an annual basis. Within this work, a hypothetical analysis of installing a solar power plant on one's own household in Dalmatinska zagora was made. Based on the consumption of electricity in the household and the location itself, an offer was made for the installation of a solar power plant, and the overall profitability of the investment was examined, as well as the period of return of the invested funds.
