Abstract
Adsorpcija je pojava u kojoj se molekule ili ioni iz otopine ili plina privlače i zadržavaju na površini čvrstog materijala. Osnovna teorija uključuje pojmove poput adsorbensa (čvrstog materijala), adsorbata (molekule koje adsorbiraju) i aktivnih mjesta na površini adsorbensa. Adsorpcija se javlja zbog privlačnih sila između molekula adsorbata i aktivnih mjesta na površini adsorbensa- Van der Waalsove, elektrostatske i kemijske veze. Ravnoteža nam prikazuje odnos količine adsorbata na površini adsorbensa i količine adsorbata u otopini. Izoterme prikazuju ravnotežu između adsorbata i adsorbensa, a najkorištenija je Langmuirova izoterma.
Abstract (english)
Adsorption is a phenomenon in which molecules or ions from a solution or gas are attracted to and retained on the surface of a solid material. The fundamental theory involves concepts such as the adsorbens (solid material), the adsorbate (molecules being adsorbed), and active sites on the surface of the adsorbens. Adsorption occurs due to attractive forces between the adsorbate molecules and the active sites on the surface of the adsorbens, including van der Waals forces, electrostatic forces, and chemical bonds. Equilibrium represents the relationship between the amount of adsorbate on the surface of the adsorbens and the amount of adsorbate in the solution. Isotherms illustrate the equilibrium between the adsorbate and adsorbens, with the Langmuir isotherm being the most commonly used.
