Abstract
U ovom radu proučava se struktura i funkcija molekula koje kontroliraju život – deoksiribonukleinska i ribonukleinska kiselina. U novijoj povijesti puno je toga otkriveno, a još mnogo više očekuje se u budućnosti. Otkrića su revolucionarna i mogla bi u znatnoj mjeri promijeniti život na kakav smo do sada navikli. Promjenom struktura nukleinskih kiselina, odnosno gena, mogle bi se spriječiti mnoge bolesti, produljiti životni vijek, ali i unaprijed odrediti psihički i fizički izgled čovjeka. Dok neke sve ovo zastrašuje, druge oduševljava. U svakom slučaju, privlači sve veću pozornost, pa se tako na mnogim internetskim stranicama može pronaći dosta o svemu ovome. Osim internetski, podatke korištene za pisanje rada pronašla sam i u knjigama o biofizici i biokemiji navedenima u literaturi.
Abstract (english)
This bachelor thesis examines the structure and function of molecules that control life - deoxyribonucleic and ribonucleic acid. In recent history, many things have been discovered, and many more is expected in the future. Discoveries are revolutionary and could greatly change the life we have lived until now. By changing the structure of nucleic acids or genes, it is possible to prevent many diseases, prolong life, but also predetermine the psychical and physical appearance of a human being. While some people are scared of all these things, others are delighted. In any case, it attracts more and more attention, so it can be found on the Internet. Apart from the Internet, for writing this thesis, I used biophysics and biochemistry books mentioned in the literature.
