Abstract
Dagnja je, uz kamenicu, komercijalno najvažnija vrsta školjkaša iz Jadranskog mora. Osnovni cilj ovog rada bio je utvrditi vrstu metilja koja parazitira u dagnjama te stanje zaraženosti u Kaštel Starom u 2014. i 2018. godini. Uzorci školjkaša sakupljani su tijekom veljače i ožujka 2014. godine te tijekom veljače i ožujka 2018. godine. Analizirana je prisutnost parazita, odnosno učestalost zaraze u odnosu na spol i dužinu ljušture te intenzitet infekcije. Vrsta metilja pronađena u ovom istraživanju pripada rodu Parvatrema iz porodice Gymnophallidae. Prisutnost parazita odnosno učestalost zaraze za 2014. godinu iznosila je 100%, dok je za 2018. godinu iznosila 65%. Učestalost zaraze jednaka je za oba spola te su sve dužinske kategorije podložne zarazi. Opterećenost jedinki zarazom je manja u 2018. godini, ali vrijednosti ne odstupaju mnogo od vrijednosti izračunatih za 2014. godinu, što upućuje na to da bi se na području Kaštel Starog broj jedinki u populaciji mogao ponovo značajno smanjiti zbog nove zaraze, budući da je tijekom 2016. godine populacija bila u oporavku.
Abstract (english)
The mussel, with oyster, is commercially the most important species of shellfish in the Adriatic Sea. The objective of the study was to determine a species of trematode which parasites in mussels and the condition of the infection in Kaštel Stari in 2014 and 2018. The samples of shellfish were collected during February and March 2014 and during February and March 2018. The infection prevalence and intensity of the infection according to the sex and shell length were analysed. A species of trematode found in this research belongs to the genus Parvatrema from the family Gymnophallidae. The infection prevalence for 2014 was 100% while in 2018 it was 65%. The infection prevalence had a same value for both sexes and for all shell length categories. Mean weighted prevalence was lower in 2018, but the values do not deviate much from values calculated for 2014, indicating that in the area of Kaštel Stari number of individuals in the population could be significantly reduced due to new infection, since during 2016 population was in recovery.
