Abstract
Putanje elektrona u magnetskom polju u klasičnoj fizici su kružnice u ravnini okomitoj na smjer tog polja. U kvantnoj fizici rješavanjem Schrödingerove jednadžbe dolazi se do rezultata da je energija slobodnog elektrona u magnetskom polju okomitom na ravninu u kojoj se giba kvantizirana, tj. poprima diskretne vrijednosti. Dobiveni oblik valne funkcije opisuje elektron kao ravni val u jednom smjeru, a u drugom smjeru je zarobljen u potencijalu harmonijskog oscilatora.
Abstract (english)
Trajectory of an electron in a magnetic field in classical physics is circular in a plane perpendicular to the direction of that field. In quantum mechanics by solving the Schrödinger's equation, one obtains the result that the energy of the free electrons in a magnetic field perpendicular to the plane of its motion is quantized, i.e. it has discreet values. Obtained form of the wave function describes electron as a plane wave in one direction, and in other direction electron is trapped in the potential of the harmonic oscillator.
