Abstract
Diplomski rad bavi se simuliranjem produkcije i raspada vektorskih mezona u nuklearnom mediju. Vektorske mezone proučavamo kroz njihov dvoleptonski kanal raspada, u elementarnim reakcijama fotoprodukcije. Proces računalno simuliramo unutar GiBUU transportnog modela, numeričke implementacije BUU jednadžbe. Cilj diplomskog rada bio je pokazati može li GiBUU implementacija dvoleptonske analize reproducirati predviđanje o širenju spektralne funkcije lakih vektorskih mezona u nuklearnom mediju koju je teorija predvidjela a eksperiment potvrdio. Zaključci simulacija potvrđuju pretpostavku o širenju spektralne funkcije mezona u nuklearnom mediju u odnosu na onu u vakuumu. Kako obavljene simulacije predstavljaju tek teoretske rezultate modela bez obaziranja na geometrijske postavke i rezolucije specifičnih detektora, bilo zanimljivo u nekoj sljedećoj fazi implementacije spomenutih ograničenja izvesti simulacije koje bi se onda mogle usporediti sa realnim fizikalnim eksperimentom.
Abstract (english)
This master thesis is concerned with the simulation of production and decays of vector mesons in nuclear medium. Vector mesons are studied through their dilepton decay channel in the elementary reactions of photoproducts. The process is simulated within the GiBUU transport model, the numerical implementation of BUU equation. The aim of the thesis was to demonstrate whether the GiBUU implementation of the dilepton analysis could reproduce the prediction of spectral function broadening of light vector mesons in the nuclear medium predicted by the theory and confirmed by the experiment. Conclusions of the simulation confirm the assumption of broadening the spectral function of the meson in the nuclear medium relative to that in the vacuum. Since the simulations are only theoretical results of the model without considering the geometric settings and the resolutions of the specific detectors, it would be interesting to implement such limitations in one of the next stages of the development of the simulations, which could then be compared with a real physical experiment.
