This paper is about people with disabilities and their sexuality. According to the previously read materials, people with disabilities are faced with different obstacles during intimate relationships, due to their insufficient education and their environment. Furthermore, this paper shows that families and the environment of the people with disabilities keep them from achieving intimate relationships. They often perceive them as asexual, although that is incorrect, according to different surveys which were carried out. In fact, these surveys claim that people with disabilities have the same needs and desires as healthy people, but they are sometimes ashamed to express those feelings fearing the reaction of their environment. Moreover, it has been noted that the attitudes of the environment towards people with disabilities and their sexuality are negative, even from the aspect of the experts in the field. According to that, it can be concluded that education concerning the sexuality of the people with disabilities is necessary not only for their benefit but for the benefit of their parents as well, so they could be able to accept the fact that their kids are not asexual, regardless of their age. It is also necessary to educate the experts so they can be able to help people with disabilities to accept their sexuality if they had any insecurities regarding the issue in the first place.
