Abstract (english) A significant number of young people nowadays still have positive attitudes towards dating violence. Since positive attitudes towards violence can lead to perpetration and / or experiencing relationship violence, prevention of such is important. Therefore, the aim of this research was to gain insight into the attitudes towards dating violence among young people and examine whether there is a correlation between attitudes towards dating violence and perception of parental acceptance / rejection. 420 young people aged 18 to 25, living in the Republic of Croatia, participated in the research conducted through the Internet questionnaire. Research findings show that most of young people have negative attitudes towards violence, and that they do not support it regardless of the situation. Nonetheless, it is evident that there is a significant number of young people, in some cases over 20%, who fully or at least partly support the use of violence in certain situations. Research results also show that the most participants perceive mothers as authoritative, and least as permissive. Fathers are also mostly perceived as authoritative while least perceived as authoritarian. The results of examining the correlation between attitudes towards violence in relationships and the perceptions of parental acceptance / rejection show that there is a statistically significant correlation between some determinants. There is a negative correlation between the mother's warmth / affection and attitudes towards male and female psychological dating violence, the positive correlation between mother's aggression / hostility and attitudes towards male and female psychological dating violence, and a positive correlation between mother's indifference/neglect and attitudes towards male psychological dating violence. Also, the results show that there is a positive correlation between father's aggression / hostility and attitudes towards male and female psychological dating violence and a positive correlation between father's aggression / hostility and attitudes towards female physical dating violence. Furthermore, there is also a positive correlation between the father's indifference / neglect and attitudes towards male psychological violence. This results cannot be generalized to the entire population but show that there is a need for further research on this topic
