The Death Penalty has existed in all historical periods, in a wide variety of societies, and in somewhat changed form has been maintained to this day. From the late 19th century, many began to awaken awareness of its moral wrongs and began a movement to end it, fueled by desire to protect human rights. The movement has come a long way to achieve the results we see today and to eliminate or limit the Death Penalty in most countries of the world, but there are stll those countries that do not want to give it up. That is their right, but it should be borne in mind that at least 2500 executions are carried out annually in the world according to the known data. This fact runs counter to the need to protect human rights, and in particular that fundamental right, the right to life that belongs to every individual. The reasons for countries not to abolish the Death Penalty are varied, but the most important argument is that a large proportion of the population of some states, even those who have not used the Death Penalty in a long time, believe that there is a need for it in order to punish the perpetrator and protect society.
