Parenting children with disabilities is a demanding task that require intervention of professionals because of particularity of disability such as autism. Supporting parents is an important factor for quality of relationships within families and helping parents to feel valued and capable in their parents role. This study examined the differences in the sense of competence and the level of parental stress in respect of the type of disability among parents who participated in the program "Growing up Together Plus". The effects of the program were measured by means of any changes in the level of stress on a scale of parental (in) competence in the evaluation questionnaire before and after the implementation of the program " Growing up Together Plus " . The results indicated that there is no difference between the groups of parents depending on the type of disability of their child in the experience of parental stress due to feelings of parental (in)competence . The results also indicated that there is no difference between the groups of parents depending on the type of disability of their child in experiencing stress or sense of competence. Results also suggest that participation in programs for parents has beneficial effect on their sense of competence and relations within the family.
