Associations are the most numerous civil society organizations in Croatia which represent the space of association of citizens in order to achieve common interests. They have non-profit status and their profit spent exclusively for the promotion of activities to deal with. The key problem activities of associations in numerous studies showed the problem of how to finance and maintain the financial stability of the association. The paper therefore presents the main sources of financing organizations: grants, donations, membership fees, own revenues from sales of goods and services, lottery funds, and funds from the European funds and other foreign sources. Due to the economic crisis affecting our country, public resources are insufficient to finance the organization, so they are forced to look for innovative approaches to financing. They took hold in Croatia recently, but in this paper we present examples of good practices of those organizations that have recently encroached on innovative sources of funding. Area of financing associations is identified as a complex area and how the actors of associations in their daily work face obstacles, however, in the work referred to some of the most important, which often block the way sufficient financing organization.
