Abstract
U današnje moderno vrijeme, računala i pristup internetu postaju sve dostupnija mlađoj populaciji, a sudjelovanje u igranju videoigara postalo je najbrže rastući oblik ljudske rekreacije. Samim eksponencijalnim rastom video i računalnih igara te rastom njihove popularnosti među djecom i mladima, postavlja se pitanje njihovog učinka na djecu i mlade. Pozitivne strane igranja online igara zasigurno postoje, no opet veliki broj igrača zbog igranja žrtvuje san, produktivnost u školi i na poslu, kućanske poslove i obaveze, vrijeme provedeno s obitelji i prijateljima te druge važne aktivnosti. Kako bi se izbjegli negativni učinci igranja online igara, potrebno je raditi na preventivnim programima u koje je važno uključiti roditelje. Za one kod kojih se već razvila ovisnost ili su pod vrlo velikim rizikom za razvoj ovisnosti o online igrama, potrebni su kvalitetni i sveobuhvatni programi liječenja koji se temelje na potrebama djece i mladih.
Abstract (english)
In today’s modern times, computers and internet access are becoming more accessible to the younger population, and participation in playing video games has become the fastest growing form of human recreation. With the exponential growth of video and computer games and the growth of their popularity among children and young people, the question of their effects on children and young people arises. The positive aspects of playing online games certainly exist, but again a large number of players sacrifice their sleep, productivity at school and at work, household chores and responsibilities, time spent with family and friends and other important activities for playing online games. To avoid the negative effects of playing online games, it is necessary to work on prevention programs in which it is important to involve parents. For those who have already developed an addiction or are at very high risk of developing an addiction to online games, quality and comprehensive treatment programs based on the needs of children and young people are needed.
