Abstract (english) Previous research describes psychosocial support as a process that seeks to establish resilience within an earthquake-affected community that also includes individuals, families and entire communities, enabling them to develop resilience against the impact of large-scale crisis events and helping them to cope with such events in the future. The aim of the thesis is to gain insight into the experiences of residents of container settlements in the area of the city of Sisak with the provided psychosocial support. The purpose of the research is to find out what significance the provision of psychosocial support has for residents of container settlements in the area of the city of Sisak, and what circumstances contribute to the need of residents of container settlements in the area of the city of Sisak for continuous provision of psychosocial support. A qualitative research approach was used in the paper, and a qualitative content analysis procedure was applied during the data analysis. Research using semi-structured interviews was conducted on a sample of ten residents of container settlements. The results of the research show that the research participants - elderly people who are residents of container settlements in the area of the city of Sisak - point to circumstances that contribute to the further need for providing psychosocial support, and the above is recognized due to emotional overwhelm, mental difficulties caused by the earthquake and living in inadequate conditions. The thesis concludes that there is a need for organized social gatherings and general togetherness within the container settlement, with some residents expressing satisfaction with interpersonal relationships, and some reporting impaired interpersonal relationships within the container settlement. The thesis recognizes the absence of support from some of the residents of container settlements, while some research participants report about the support provided by family, friends, experts and volunteers of various organizations. Finally, the paper concludes that the participants express the accessibility of the feeling of being forgotten by society due to the lack of information from the city authorities, where they feel frustrated by unrenovated homes and express uncertainty about their own future.
