Abstract | NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) populacija obuhvaća mlade koji nisu uključeni u formalno obrazovanje, nisu su zaposleni ili na obuci, te predstavlja globalni socijalni izazov. Prevencija NEET statusa zahtijeva sveobuhvatne pristupe. |
Abstract (english) | The NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) population, encompassing young individuals who are neither enrolled in formal education, employed, nor undergoing training, constitutes a global social challenge. The reasons for this exclusion are diverse, including economic insecurity, inadequate educational offerings, and personal challenges such as mental health or family issues. The consequences of NEET status are serious, with long-term implications. This includes the risk of prolonged poverty, a negative impact on mental health, and reduced social and economic mobility for young people. Preventing NEET status necessitates comprehensive approaches. This involves improving educational programs and training access, adapting educational systems to the needs of the labor market, and providing mentoring and psychosocial support. It is also crucial to create conducive conditions for the employment of young individuals, promoting the creation of jobs that align with their skills and interests. Integrating the NEET population into society and the labor market requires cross-sectoral collaboration and dismantling the stigma associated with this status. Encouraging young people to actively engage in education or training programs is also pivotal. The NEET population represents a significant social and economic challenge, but through systematic prevention, support, and inclusive policies, we can forge a better future for young people and society as a whole. |
