The subject of thesis is the "life" of share capital in a joint-stock company. Chronologically, the joint-stock company represents the earliest form of a capital company, and today, in comparison with other types of capital companies, it constitutes the most rigid structure. Share capital plays a central role in capital companies, providing the foundation for achieving the company's defined long-term business objectives, which typically surpass the lifespan of an individual. By examining the role of share capital, the principles of contribution and maintenance of share capital, the minimum share capital requirements, and the mechanisms for increasing and decreasing share capital, the thesis aims to illustrate the course of its "existence," with reference to the economic advantages of joint-stock companies, which are grounded in share capital. The paper also addresses the current issue of the redenomination of share capital from the kuna to the new national currency, the euro, and highlights the legal challenges associated with this transition.
