Every human being is a whole that consists of physical, emotional, social and spiritual component. In times of consumerism and materialism modern man can get everything he want quickly and simply, yet it seems that there has never been more mental sickness, anxiety and dissatisfaciton in the society. Spirituality, an aspect often ignored but is the key for man to realize that he is not limited only to the visible and material things. Social work is a profession which main purpose is to help clients solve their problems by finding solutions in their life. In the various fields of social work such as counseling, psychotherapy and supervision, in order for the approach to client to be holistic, the integration of spirituality is often a component that has to be included. In this paper, we will get an insight into concepts of counselling, psychotherapy and supervision and consider in which way integration of spirituality and religion make difference to them. Logotherapy and hagiotherapy will also be presented as examples of psychotherapy courses with spirituality in their roots. Since the majority of social workers want to learn about and use more spirituality and religiosity in their work and that the interest for this topic is increasing in the society, it is realistic to expect a shift towards greater appreciation of this topic and its increase in research, social and professional engagement.
