The thesis explains the freedom to provide services as one of the four fundamental freedoms on the internal market of the European Union. It presents a general overview of market freedoms with the special analysis of the provision of services in the European Union. The problem of the freedom to provide services on the internal market of the European Union can be divided into three specific areas, namely: the recognition of professional qualifications, the freedom to provide legal services and the freedom to provide health services. This paper puts emphasis on the ability to provide health care services which essentially affects other economic freedoms, such as the freedom of movement of workers and their family members, which is explained in this thesis with the examples from judicial practice.The aim of the thesis is to distinguish and understand the criteria for the application of the regulations on the free movement of services and the freedom of establishment, to explain the modalities for the provision of services, and the restrictions of those freedoms, as well as other themes concerning the free movement of services within the European Union.The work is divided into several sections. The first section explains and describes the internal market and the free movement of goods, people and capital with special emphasis on the freedom of provision of services which is the subject of this work and constitutes its second part. The third part refers to the freedom to provide health services and contains the review of the whole thesis at the end.
