The topic of this final thesis is the classification of civil servants’ workplaces. Regulation of the classification in workplaces in units of local and regional government determines the classification of workplaces for civil servants and employees. The system of classification of workplaces for civil servants is based on the sorting of workplaces into categories, subcategories, and levels of subcategories. Every workplace is determined by the classification rank which is the basis for the value of salaries for civil servants and employees. Workplaces in national authorities, necessary number of executors in each workplace, conditions for the schedule and all other matters of great importance for the organization and mode of operation in national authorities under the law are determined according to the Act of internal order. Law on civil servants and employees in local and regional government determines the standard criteria according to which the workplaces of civil servants are classified: necessary expertise, complexity of tasks, work independence, extent of cooperation with other governments and communication with clients, level of responsibility and influence on decision making. Grading of civil servants is mostly connected with achievement of certain rights and obligations that is with determination of civil servants’ responsibilities and based on that, institutes of official legislation which are related to grading are shown.
