The subject of this final paper are the types of transport in large cities. Cities are dynamic places that develop over the years. Eachcity, depending on its structure, position and population, develops its own transport system and public transport system. The system of public city transport is formed on the basis of the structure of the city itself and the needs and desires of its inhabitants. The primary goal of any public city transportation system should be to enable residents and visitors to the city to get from one location to another. Given that the inhabitants of cities use means of transport on a daily basis, transport in cities must be efficient, more precisely, the transport infrastructure must be developed. Traffic and development of the traffic are one of the main components of the economy and one of the factors of development, and the means of transport that are primarily used in cities today are: cars, buses, bicycles and, in recent years, more and more scooters (emphasis on electric scooters). Investment in the development of public urban transport is necessary in all cities. Only cities that continuously invest in the infrastructure oft heir transport system and the development of public transport in the future will have something that will attract new residents and visitors, ie tourists to get acquainted with the sights and life in the city. With the accession to the European Union, the Republic of Croatia has committed itself to begin active work on the development and implementation of developed transport development strategies. The Transport Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia primarily aims to improve transport infrastructure and invest funds in the development of management, ie the organization of the transport system in the Republic of Croatia. The scientific methods used in writing the thesis are: the method of analysis, the method of synthesis and the method of description.
