Abstract
Izvršavanje kazne zatvora ima mnogo negativnih aspekata. Stoga vlasti ulažu napore kako bi se pronašle odgovarajuće alternative izvršavanju kazni zatvora. Probacijska služba najnovija je grana kaznenopravnog sustava u Hrvatskoj, koja još uvijek prolazi intenzivan razvoj. Stoga je u pripremi novi Zakon o probaciji. Ovaj rad daje uvid u probaciju kao novinu u hrvatskom zakonodavstvu, kao i probleme uočene u praksi. Također, autor će predstaviti statističke podatke i pružiti usporedni prikaz probacijskog sustava u Engleskoj i Walesu.
Abstract (english)
Serving time in prison has many negative aspects. As a result, authorities make strong effort how to find adequate alternatives to imprisonment. The Probation Service is the newiest branch in the criminal justice system in Croatia, which intensive developement is still in progress. Therefore, new legislation is being drafted. This paper provides insight in probation as a novelty in Croatian legislature, as well as problems noticed in practice. Also in the paper author will present statistical data and provide comparative view of the probation system in England and Wales.
