Indirect intent will be defined when the perpetrator by his actions can achieve the characteristics of a criminal offense and will agree to it. Aggravated murders are also regulated as qualified murders, which means that certain qualifying characteristics must be met by which they will be distinguished from ordinary criminal offenses of murder. Thus, for example, murder in a cruel way will exist when the perpetrator inflicts pain, torment and suffering that differ significantly in duration and intensity from the suffering, pain and torment that are otherwise associated with murder because they are greater. One form of aggravated murder is the murder of a person who is particularly vulnerable due to age, his or her severe physical or mental impairment, or pregnancy. The crime of murder can be considered one of the most serious crimes prescribed by the Criminal Code. Each adoption of new amendments to legal provisions and penalties attempts to increase the scope of descriptions of criminal offenses, such as the current Criminal Code innovating descriptions of aggravated murder.
