Abstract
Titovo ambiciozno vanjskopolitičko djelovanje na Balkanu, vođeno bez Staljinove suglasnosti, rezultiralo je izbacivanjem Jugoslavije iz komunističke obitelji. Kako bi se obranili od sovjetske propagande i potencijalne opozicije u vlastitim redovima, tijekom 1948. godine, dolazi do masovnih uhićenja stvarnih i navodnih Staljinovih simpatizera. Aparat državne sigurnosti (Udba), stavljajući sebe iznad vlasti i zakona, provodio je uhićenja suprotno načelima kaznenog i upravnog postupka, uzrokujući internaciju velikog broja nevinih osoba na Goli otok i ostale logore uspostavljene u tu svrhu. Kako bi se postigao politički preodgoj Titovih političkih neistomišljenika, koristile su se razne metode torture praćene teškim fizičkim radom, a sve u svrhu denunciranja aktivnih IB-ovaca na slobodi.
Abstract (english)
The ambitious foreign policy operations which Josip Broz Tito was leading in the Balkans, without Stalin's consent have caused Yugoslavia's expulsion from the community of communist countries ( the Cominform). In order to defend itself from Soviet propaganda and the potential opposition in its own ranks, mass arrests of real and alleged Stalin sympathizers occured during 1948 on Tito's order. The State Security Administration (UDBA) placed itself above the authorities and the law and was arresting large numbers of innocent people who were then interned in the prison camp on Goli otok or elsewhere, contrary to all the principles of criminal and administrative procedures. Various torture methods as well as hard, physical labour were used with the aim of re-educating Riro-s dissenters and active, free followers of Informbiro.
