Abstract
Osobe starije dobi svoje starenje mogu percipirati kao uspješno ili manje uspješno jer su faktori uspješnog starenja brojni i različiti za svakog pojedinca. Uspješno starenje predstavlja višedimenzionalni pojam koji uključuje ideje kao što su nepostojanje bolesti i invaliditeta, održavanje visokih fizičkih i kognitivnih fonkcija, zadovoljstvo životom, osobni rast, aktivna uključenost u život i drugo. Takoder, može predstavljati dobro suočavanje s negativnim promjenama, zdravo i blisko partnerstvo te bogatu socijalnu mrežu. Medu različitim teorijskim pristupima uspješnom starenju najpoznatiji je biomedicinski model, ali veliku ulogu ima i psihosocijalni model, alternativni, te laički koji jedini uključuju percepciju samih osoba starije dobi o uspješnom starenju. Provedena istraživanja temeljena na različitim modelima uspješnog starenja pridonijela su boljem razumijevanju snaga i mogućnosti osoba starije dobi. Prema nalazima istraživanja ljudi koji uspješno stare su oni kod kojih osobni rast, vitalnost i nastojanja nadvladavaju tjelesno, kognitivno i socijalno propadanje. Čimbenici koji utječu na uspješno starenje su: zdrava prehrana, tjelesna aktivnost, socijalna uključenost i životni optimizam. Međutim, postoje i drugi čimbenici koji mogu imati utjecaj na to hoće li osobe starije dobi svoje starenje percipirati kao uspješno kao što je npr. korištenje interneta.
Abstract (english)
Older people may perceive their aging as successful or less succcssfl1l because the factors of successful aging are numerous and different for each individual. Succcssful aging is a multidimensional concept that includes ideas such as the absence of disease and disability and dealing with negative changes. lt helps maintain high physical and cognitive functions, life satisfaction, personal growth, active involvement in life, close partnerships, and a rich social network. Among the various theoretical approaches to successful aging, the most notable is the biomedical model. Still, the psychosocial, alternative, and laypersons' models that include the perception of the elderly about successful aging also play an essential role. The conducted research based on different models of successful aging contributed to a better understanding of the positive aspects of older people and their strengths and abilities. People who arc aging successfully arc those whose personal growth, vitality, and efforts overcome physical, cognitive, and social decline, according to research findings. Factors influencing successful aging arc a healthy diet, physical activity, social inclusion and life optimism. However, there arc other factors that can have an impact on whether older people get their aging perceived as successful, for example the use of the internet.
