Abstract
Pojava seksualnog iskorištavanja, zlostavljanja i nasilja nad djecom nije nova, ali u današnjem vremenu ona dobiva novu dimenziju. Republika Hrvatska svojim zakonodavnim okvirom nastoji štititi djecu, a kao članica UN-a, potpisnica je Konvencije o pravima djeteta te uz nju relevantnih međunarodnih dokumenata kojima se dodatno štite dječja prava i interesi. Brzim napredovanjem tehnologija, život se velikim dijelom odvija u virtualnom svijetu te se uz pojavu COVID-19 pandemije svijet izolirao, što je rezultiralo porastom broja seksualnog iskorištavanja djece i nasilja općenito. S obzirom da je znakove seksualnog iskorištavanja teško prepoznati, pokazuje se bitnim obrazovanje stručnjaka, pravovremeno reagiranje nadležnih tijela te usuglašavanje u korištenju terminologije. Isto tako, djecu treba upozoravati na potencijalne opasnosti, educirati ih u informatičkoj pismenosti i spolnom odgoju. Kako su djeca najranjivija skupina društva te sami nisu u mogućnosti zagovarati svoja prava, sva nadležna tijela su tu da zagovaraju njihovu dobrobit i najbolji interes.
Abstract (english)
Sexual exploitation, abuse and violence against children is not a new phenomenon but today it takes on a new dimension. The Republic of Croatia strives to protect children with its legislative framework, and as a member of the UN, it is a signatory to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as relevant international documents that additionally protect children's rights and interests. With the rapid advancement of technology, life is largerly taking place in the virtual world, and with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world became isolated, which resulted in an increase in the number of sexual exploitation of children and violence in general. Considering that the signs of sexual exploitation are difficult to recognize, the education of experts, the timely response of competent authorities and the harmonization of the use of terminology are essential. Likewise, children should be warned of potential dangers, educated in computer literacy and sex education. As children are the most vulnerable group of society and are unable to defend their rights themselves, all competent bodies are there to advocate for their well-being and best interest.
