The topic of this final paper are servitudes. Servitudes are a legal institute that enables the authorized person to use someone else's thing for certain purposes, without becoming its owner, and all this while owner of that thing is obliged to suffer or forbear doing so. All servitudes have most common characteristics, such as being real rights or being on someone else's property or being non-transferable rights and the like. Precisely because of this fact, all servitudes are regulated by the Law on Property and Other Real Rights, which is also the fundamental source of this work. Servitudes are, in practice, most often established for the purpose of passage or passage and connection to public infrastructure, for example, such as water supply or electrical grid. However, they can also be established for other purpose, such as the right to use land for agriculture, the right to fish in a water area, and so on. In this final paper, it was necessary to investigate how servitudes were regulated in Roman law, and then how they are regulated through legal regulations today. Furthermore, in this paper I have explained in detail each individual type of servitudes and their subtypes. It was also of great importance to analyze the process of acquiring, that is, the establishments of the servitudes themselves, and to emphasize the means by which all the legal foundations of the servitudes can be established. At the very and, I listed the ways in which the right of servitudes can be protected and the ways in which this right can be terminated.
