U kontekstu femicida, uloga socijalnog rada postaje još važnija, jer pruža ključnu podršku u prepoznavanju rizičnih situacija i omogućava pravovremene intervencije koje mogu spasiti živote. Cilj ovog rada je istražiti problematiku ubojstava žena u Republici Hrvatskoj kroz perspektivu obiteljskog nasilja, rodno utemeljenog nasilja i fenomena femicida.
Abstract (english) Violence is an unpleasant subject, especially if it concerns violence against women. Family violence is the most widespread form of violence against women, and it represents a major social problem that leaves behind lasting, long-term consequences, and most often results from the relationship of power and control within the family. It can manifest in several forms, with the most common being physical, psychological, sexual, and economic. Gender-based violence is not only a problem of each country individually, it is a problem in a global context that is not limited exclusively to certain cultural, social, and economic factors. Femicide is the most tragic form of violence that occurs in all contemporary societies. The phenomenon of the murder of women and the violence that occurs within the family environment are not just isolated cases of the commission of a criminal act but are a mirror of ubiquitous gender-based violence, as well as social tolerance towards it. Because of this widespread problem, the fight against femicide requires a multidisciplinary approach that includes not only the legal context and criminal measures but also community education and the implementation of preventive activities, in which social work plays a key role. Social workers are key actors who can and must act in the fight against gender-based violence against women and femicide. In the context of femicide, the role of social work becomes even more important, as it provides key support in identifying risky situations and enables timely interventions that can save lives. This paper aims to investigate the issue of murders of women in the Republic of Croatia through the perspective of domestic violence, gender-based violence, and the phenomenon of femicide. For this purpose, available literature, existing legal frameworks, international and national documents that regulate the previously mentioned terms, statistical data with a focus on the Republic of Croatia, and the role of institutions in the fight against violence against women will be analyzed.
