Abstract
Pitanje eutanazije vrlo je kontroverzno etičko i zakonsko pitanje. Hrvatsko kazneno zakonodavstvo ne poznaje pojam eutanazije, nego samo pojam usmrćenja na zahtjev, kojeg Kazneni zakon tretira kao kazneno djelo, ali propisuje blaže kažnjavanje od običnog ubojstva s obzirom na pristanak žrtve i humane motive. Poštovanje autonomije pojedinca uključuje i poštovanje njegova slobodnog izbora između života i smrti. Pokret legalizacije eutanazije kao prava na smrt prisutan je svuda oko nas i ne smije se na dulje staze ignorirati.
Abstract (english)
The question of euthanasia is a very controversial ethical and legal issue. Croatian criminal law does not know the notion of euthanasia, but merely the notion of conviction at the request of the Criminal Code as a criminal offense, but prescribes a lesser punishment than ordinary murder in respect of victim's consent and human motives. Respect for individual autonomy includes respect for his free choice between life and death. The launch of the legalization of euthanasia as a right to death is present everywhere around us and must not be ignored for longer periods.
