The history of the United States is quite short compared to the other world powers, which have a significant influence on international relations and events in the present time. Europeans inhabit the American continent at the beginning of the seventeenth century. The most significant impact on North American soil was achieved by the United Kingdom, which established 13 colonies. There were great differences between the British colonies, but they had the same problem with regarding taxes and laws set by authorities in London. Rebellion against the government comes to the armed conflict, and in 1774 was the First continental congress brought. The congress tried to reach a peaceful solution but in the end did not decide anything, so it was up to the American Revolution. For the American history much more significant is Second continental congress that made a decision to support colonial army and proclaim independence. On July 17, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was issued, one of the most important documents of American history, followed by a war of independence which was merely a continuation of already initiated conflicts. After the war, problem of interior decoration of the new state emerged. By declaring independence, decision on confederation was adopted as the simplest form of arrangement, but the post-war crisis required a stronger link between states in terms of federation. In 1787, the US Constitution passed, the forerunner and example of the emergence of numerous constitutions to other states of the world. Allocation of authority to the legislative, executive and judicial as well mutual control systems between branches enables the functioning of society.
