Abstract
Europska unija koja je stvorila pravni poredak određuje našu političku i društvenu stvarnost. Samim time što određuje našu političku i društvenu stvarnost njezina institucionalna struktura je vrlo kompleksna. O kompleksnosti govorimo zbog ovisnosti djelovanja institucija Europske unije koje europskim zemljama omogućuju suradnju oko sve većeg broja pitanja, pa čak i odlučivanje o onim najosjetljivijim pitanjima vezanim uz nacionalni interes. Cilj ovog rada je ukratko objasniti povijest i nastanak Europske unije i pobliže objasniti rad, zadaću i svrhu institucija Europske unije, kako vodećih institucija ( Europski parlament, Europska komisija, Europsko vijeće te Vijeće Europske unije) tako i pomoćnih europskih institucija, kao i onih primarno nepolitičkih institucija poput Europske središnje banke. Europska unija kao složena politička institucija koja radi na očuvanju mira te na uspostavljanju ravnoteže između njezinih država članica mora uzeti u obzir da kod donošenja odluka može izazvati značajne političke posljedice. Pa je s ciljem rješavanja eventualno nastalih političkih posljedica omogućeno proučavanje institucija poput Suda Europske unije. Bitno je spomenuti i ujedinjavanje suvereniteta kao jednog od važnijeg segmenata Europske unije koji govori da države članice dio svojih ovlasti donošenja odluka prenose na zajedničke institucije koje su osnovane da bi se odluke o posebnim pitanjima od zajedničkog interesa mogle donositi demokratski na razini Europske unije. Razumijevanjem na koji način funkcioniraju institucije EU te na koji način koriste svoje ovlasti, bolje ćemo razumjeti i samu Europsku uniju. U radu je također provedena anketa u kojoj je određeni broj ispitanika (100 ljudi) odgovarao na pitanja o tome koliko su upućeni u institucije Europske unije, njihov rad te koliko su zadovoljni njihovim radom. Tom provedenom anketom dobili smo okvirne rezultate koji nam govore o angažiranosti i zanimanju ispitanika za rad institucija Europske unije koje su jedan od važnijih aktera Europske unije.
Abstract (english)
The European Union is determining our political and social reality. Due to the fact that it is determining our political and social reality, its institutional structure is very complex. We talk about complexity because of the dependance of the EU institutions' actions which enable European countries to cooperate on a growing number of questions, even when it comes to deciding on the most sensitive questions connnected to national interests. The purpose of this paper is to shortly explain the history and the origin of the EU and to closely explain the work, mission and goal of the European Union's institutions, the leading ones (The European Parliament, The European Commission, The European Council and the Council of the European Union), as well as the supporting European institutions, and primary nonpolitical institutions, like the European Central Bank. The European Union, as a complex political institution working on keeping the peace and establishing the balance between its members, one has to bare in mind that when making decisions, it can cause major political consequences. If we understand how the EU institutions function and how they use their authorities, we will understand the EU itself better. Finally, the paper also contains a survey in which (100 people) has answered the questions on how acquainted they are with the European Union's institutions and their work, and how pleased they are with the work. The survey has given us rough results which tell about the engagement and interest of examinees with the work of European Union's Institutions, which are one of the most important actors of the European Union.
