This thesis deals with the topic of crime scene investigation. The purpose of the CSI is to comprehend and determine the possible relevant evidence, to provide their causal and consequential explanation, and to relate them to other evidence in order to establish the truth of what happened. The regulations of criminal procedural law provide the legal basis for undertaking the CSI, but the process of its procedure is criminal in nature. At the beginning of the thesis the basic concepts, principles and goals of the CSI procedure will be presented. In the main part of the thesis, the emphasis will be on explaining the CSI location as an object of observation and cognition, how to access that space and the behavior of the CSI team at the scene. This is followed by a more detailed explanation of the CSI stages, the tactical and technical rules of CSI procedure at the scene and the method of the established factual situation recording. Finally, an overview of the most common omissions in CSI practice will be presented in order to highlight the key factors that the CSI team in their work should be aware and pay attention to. At the end of the thesis are briefly explained the reconstruction and experiment and their role in relation to the CSI.
