Abstract
Cilj ovoga rada je istražiti povijesni razvoj diplomatskog prava. Popisat će se sva značajnija obilježja razvoja diplomatskog prava i analizirati ključne karakteristike kroz šest vremenskih razdoblja. U radu se detaljnije prikazuje uloga poslanika kao diplomatske osobe, od povremenih (ad hoc) poslanika, do ustanove stalnih diplomatskih predstavništva. Diplomatsko pravo prilagođavalo se raznim svjetskim povijesnim događajima. Analizira se put razvoja od klasičnog, tajnog do javnog diplomatskog djelovanja. Obradit će se temeljni dokumenti poput Bečke konvencije o diplomatskim odnosima iz 1961. godine i važni događaji poput Bečkog kongresa. Posebna pažnja posvećuje se važnim diplomatskim ličnostima, poput bivšeg američkog predsjednika Thomasa Woodrowa Willsona i njihovim utjecajima na razvoj diplomatskog prava. Ukazuje se i na važnost uspostave međunarodnih organizacija i njihovih doprinosa održavanju mira i rješavanju sporova.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this paper is to explore the historical development of diplomatic law. It will list the significant features of the development of diplomatic law and analyze key characteristics throughout six historical periods. The paper presents in detail the role of envoys as diplomatic personnel, from temporary (ad hoc) envoys to the esstablishment of permanent diplomatic representations. Diplomatic law had adapted to various world historical events. The progression from classical, secret diplomacy to public diplomacy is analyzed. Fundamental documents such as the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and important events like the Congress of Vienna will be examined. Special attention is given to significant diplomatic figures such as former US President Thomas Woodrow Wilson and their influence on the development of diplomatic law. The importance of establishing international organizations and their contributions to maintaining peace and resolving disputes are also emphasized.
