The aim of this paper is to deal with the topic of security measures that are part of criminal law, and are regulated in Title V of the Criminal Code. We have been going through the work since the early history of the development of security measures, with an emphasis on a detailed description of its change through changes to the Criminal Law. Furthermore, we describe the concept of security measures and the very purpose of the measure of the same name. Also, through the paper we analyze in detail each separate type of security measures with reference to the negative and positive aspects of modulation in Criminal Law. In order to point out the possible issues, examples from the case law will be presented. Finally, the author of the paper presents his own opinion and position on the topic and, based on the conducted research, draws a conclusion. I chose the topic for my work according to my own interest and familiarity with some of the mentioned measures, and also because of the desire to spread knowledge about the issues of the measures themselves.
