Abstract
Mikrobiologija vode proučava život mikroorganizama koji se nalaze u čistim i onečišćenim vodama, određuje smjer procesa samopročišćavanja te razjašnjava mogućnost korištenja mikroorganizama kao indikatora stupnja onečišćenja vode. Poznato je da je voda jedan od osnovnih uvjeta za život na Zemlji, nezamijenjiva je njezina uloga u održavanju osobne i opće higijene, u proizvodnji namirnica i u zadovoljavanju brojnih potreba u prirodi, poljoprivredi i industriji, ali je također i prenositelj ne samo teških zaraza, već i opasnih kemikalija, kancerogenih, radioaktivnih i drugih materijala. Stoga je razumljivo što mnoge međunarodne organizacije nastoje zaštiti vodu, prije svega vodu za piće, od bilo kojeg oblika zagađivanja.
Abstract (english)
Water microbiology studies the life of microorganisms that can be found in clean and polluted waters, it determines the direction of the self cleaning process and clarifies the possibility of microorganisms usage as indicators of water pollution degree. It is known that water is one of the basic necessary conditions for life on Earth, her role is irreplaceable in maintaining personal and general hygiene, in food production and in the meeting the many needs in the countryside, agriculture and industry, but it is also the transferor, not only a serious infections, but also a hazardous chemicals, carcinogens, radioactive and other materials. It is therefore understandable that many international organizations are committed to protect the water, primarily drinking water, from any type of contamination.
