Abstract
Vrtače su geomorfološki oblici koji su usko vezani za krška područja, a mogu predstavljati opasnost za ljudske živote i infrastrukturu. Kao područje istraživanja izabran je grad Rijeka i neposredna okolica grada, zbog mnogobrojnih pojava vrtača na širem području. U radu je provedena GIS multikriterijska analiza susceptibiliteta vrtača u svrhu izdvajanja potencijalno opasnih područja. U tu svrhu identificirano je osam faktora koji utječu na kemijsko otapanje karbonata i razvoj vrtača, kao i njihovi utjecaji na ukupan geohazard. U GIS okruženju izrađeno je osam tematskih karata, na temelju podataka dobivenih daljinskim istraživanjima. Provedena je prostorna analiza, vrijednosti tematskih karata su sumirane, a rezultat je karta geohazarda pomoću koje su izdvojena potencijalno opasna područja.
Abstract (english)
Sinkholes are geomorphological features related to karst areas, which could pose a threat to human lives and infrastructure. City of Rijeka and its surrounding area has been selected as the study area, because of high frequency of sinkhole occurrence in the region. Multicriteria susceptibility analysis has been conducted in order to detect hazardous parts of the study area. Eight different factors have been identified as responsible for dissolution of carbonate rocks and sinkhole development, as well as their respective influence on the total geohazard. In accordance, eight thematic maps were created in GIS environment, based on remote sensing data. Spatial analysis was conducted, thematic map values were summed, and a geohazard map was created as a result, which was then used to identify potentially hazardous areas.
