Abstract
Zbog sve većih ambicija u postizanju klimatskih ciljeva i prelaska na niskougljične tehnologije, litij je trenutno jedan od najtraženijih minerala na svjetskom tržištu. Cijena litijevog karbonata u samo nekoliko mjeseci je skočila s 15 000 USD/t na preko 50 000 USD/t te se očekuje i daljnji rast cijena. Inovativni projekti ekstrakcije litija iz geotermalnih fluida mogli bi imati značajan utjecaj na europske zahtjeve za postizanje klimatske neutralnosti do 2050. godine. Rad se odnosi na pregled dostupnih tehnologija i aktualnih projekata ekstrakcije geotermalnog litija u svijetu te analizu dostupnih podataka za 260 bušotina u Panonskom bazenu kako bi se ispitala mogućnost eksploatacije litija u Republici Hrvatskoj.
Abstract (english)
Due to its growing ambitions in achieving climate preservation goals and switching to low-carbon technologies, lithium is currently one of the most sought-after minerals on the world market. The price of lithium carbonate increased from 15 000 USD/t to over 50 000 USD/t in only a couple of months, and further price growth is expected. Innovative lithium extraction projects from geothermal brines could have a significant impact on European requirements for achieving climate neutrality by 2050. The thesis presents a review of available technologies and current projects of geothermal lithium extraction in the world. Also, the analysis of available data for 260 wells in the Pannonian Basin was given to examine the possibility of lithium exploitation in Croatia.
