Abstract: In the period from 2013 to 2015 in the municipality of Lobor numerous landslides were activated due to rainfall. Within this thesis data were collected for landslides from various sources: archive of local government, the National Center for Protection and Rescue, technical reports and geotechnical studies, as well as information from the media. Field investigation is also performed in order to check data and to collect descriptive data of the exact location of landslides, size of landslides and surface elements at risk. These data were used to analyze triggers of landslides, which were consisted of the identification of rainfall events which caused landslides, as well as defining the intensity and duration of the identified rainfall events. Measurements obtained by five meteorological stations, Bednja, Krapina, Zabok, Krapinske Toplice and Zlatar, were used to analyze precipitation. Based on data collected on the exact dates of activation of landslides, it was found that the extreme weather conditions occurred in 2013 and 2015. Based on the analysis of data seven precipitation events were found with the values of the intensity of rainfall ranging from 0,15 to 0,80 mm/h and the duration of precipitation values ranging from 192 to 504 h. By comparing these data with intensity-duration curves (ID thresholds) from scientific literature, it is shown that in the analyzed period in the Lobor municipality landslides (in size from 10 to 2500 m2) were caused due to precipitation events that exceed the limit values according to Guzzetti et al. (2008), and six events were also exceeded the limit values according to Guzzetti et al. (2008).
