This master thesis describes the most recent trend in the application of LNG on ships, the use of dual-fuel diesel engines with internal combustion on ships which are not intended for the transport of LNG. The introductory section outlines the most important environmental requirements that have encouraged shipowners to explore alternative cleaner fuels as the use of diesel fuel has become increasingly expensive and demanding. The problem of flue gas emissions was solved by using LNG as the primary fuel for generating power on ships. The paper describes the storage and use of natural gas, describes all the major system components as well as their functions in the complex process of natural gas distribution to the engines. A ship was selected on the basis of which a detailed technical description of the LNG system was made with a detailed description of the main used components and on the basis of which a scheme of the LNG system and a draft of centrifugal pump, which are attached to this work, was made. Finally, the basic calculations related to the system described are outlined as well as the main advantages and disadvantages .
