Distribution networks are part of the power system that supplies electricity to consumers at the short distances. They consist of switching stations, distribution lines and distribution transformers. By the voltage levels they are divided into medium and low voltage networks. The basis of the distribution network is to provide all consumers with electricity and voltage with nominal value of no more than 10%, with losses that should be as small as possible. The paper is divided in 8 chapters. The first two chapters are talking generally about the distribution networks, the division of the distribution network elements, and the voltage and power losses in the eponymous network. In other chapters are shown load lines, their division and the impact on the voltages and power in the network. The paper also pointed out examples that point to the power loss and voltage drops that occur in the network over the electricity transmission and how they depend on increasing the amount given load in the network. Graphs describes the movement of the voltage and power in the network. According to prominent examples, various network losses are shown incurred due to energy distribution. To make the system more affordable and therefore more useful, those losses must be reduced to the lowest possible level.
