In this thesis an analysis of the loading forces and momenta on the coupling points in the crankshaft mechanism MAN D 0826 LOH 15 was carried out. In the first coupling part there is a piston with a small end on the connecting rod, and in the second coupling part there is a big end connecting rod with a crankshaft rod journal. The third part of the analysis of the loading, which is influenced by the forces, is in the centerline of the crankshaft. The first part of this thesis explains the crankshaft mechanism, which was analyzed with the help of kinematics and dynamics. The cause and influence of the forces and momenta on the crankshaft composition is described. An analysis of the engine MAN D 0826 LOH 15 was carried out in the second part of this thesis. The influence of the forces on the output torque of the crankshaft was calculated and an engine balance of the crankshaft involving centrifugal as well as primary and secondary inertia forces was carried out. The balance was performed by adding the counterweights onto the crankshaft rod journals. This analysis was firstly conducted on a one cylinder engine, secondly on an inline-six and 12 engine and, finally, on a V12 engine with 60° or 90° angle between cylinders.
